Part 5 – Music Theory 101 – Determining A Song’s Key (i.e. Scale, Tonal Center, and Musical Mode)

This is Part 5 of a five part video series I created back in December for the VIP session that demonstrate how to determine a song’s key, or more specifically the MAJOR scale, tonal center, and musical mode on which a song is based. Learning to make a distinction between these three components: Major scale, tonal center, and musical mode can help you gain insight into the emotional qualities inherent in the specific arrangement of notes being used in a song’s composition.
