My name is Scott McLean and I’m the founder of TranceMusicMastery.com.
I am an independent musician, with an intense desire to master the art of producing trance music and pass on what I learn to others. I hope that (1) I help others make better trance music and (2) get to hear and enjoy the music created by the Trance Music Mastery community. I hope you find the information I post here to be (1) relevant, (2) in depth, (3) easy to understand. Let me share with you a little about myself and what has driven me to this point in my life. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been attracted to music that makes heavy use of synthesizer. So, naturally, some of my favorite musical genres are Trance, Techno, and I also like a wide variety including classical music. If you asked me what two bands were my biggest influences, I’d have to say Rush and Depeche Mode. I know… vastly different, but those are what I listened to the most during my “formative” years. I also was influenced in the early 90’s by industrial music like Front242 and Nitzer Ebb, I just loved the pounding rhythms and mechanical sounds coming out of that genre. Eventually, I settled on Trance as my favorite electronic music genre and have embarked on a life quest to master it.
I’ll continue to expand on this About page (and my musical life story) in the future as I get questions whose answers fall under the “About me” stuff… until then, keep making great music that you love and drop me a line, I’d love to listen to your latest track!
